If you need legal help, but have limited income and can't afford a lawyer. What can you do?
In Ontario, people who have low incomes can get free help with some types of legal problems through:
- Community legal clinics
- Legal Aid Ontario
- Duty counsel at courts and tribunals
- Law Help Ontario Self-Help Centres
- Family Law Information Centres
- Family Law Service Centres (FLSCs)
- Law Society of Upper Canada.
Another useful resource is Justice for Children and Youth. This website offers a selection of great online resources as well as information about your legal rights at any age.
